Chile is a long, narrow strip of land between the Andes Mountains to the east and the Pacific Ocean to the west. The northern desert contains great mineral wealth, principally copper. The relatively small central area dominates in terms of population and agricultural resources. Southern Chile is rich in forests and grazing lands, and features a string of volcanoes and lakes.
Chile is one of South America’s most stable and prosperous nations, leading Latin American nations in competitiveness, income per capita, globalization and economic freedom, with Free Trade Agreements with 58 countries.
Country Director Chile
The Access Latin America representation in Chile has been established by Maarten Kraaijenhagen. He is an Entrepreneur and Businesses Creator with a multidisciplinary vision, creating bridges between different business areas.
He has worked as Consultant and Project Manager in the financial field in Europe (Netherlands, Belgium and Germany) in companies like Aon, ING Group, TNS & Numico. In 2005 he changed his base to Santiago de Chile and worked at MSC, world´s second biggest shipping company as Transhipment Coordinator. Later he worked as Regional Manager South Chile for the Heineken brand.
Maarten´s interest in international business has its roots at his International Education (Netherlands, Germany and Chile). He graduated with distinction as Master of Sciences in Business Administration with a specialization in Information and Knowledge Management at the Groningen State University in the Netherlands.
