Our office in the Netherlands provides a direct point of contact for our Dutch and European clients but is also a gateway into Europe for Latin American enterprises.
The Netherlands maintain the largest maritime port in Europe, therefore being one of the world’s 10 leading exporting countries and the 17th largest economy in the world. Many international corporations have their headquarters in the Netherlands thanks to its attractive tax climate for foreign investors, well developed labour force, infrastructure and service providers.
Business opportunities in the Netherlands can be found in industries such as chemicals, food, agriculture, ICT, transportation and healthcare, but there is also an increase of interest in cleantech and renewables. The country is very much internationally oriented and founds the origin of many succesful multinational enterprises such as Shell, Unilever, ING, Heineken, TomTom, Philips, Ahold, Akzo Nobel, DSM, DAF and ASML.

Since 2001 Michel has regularly visited Latin America and travelled to a dozen countries in the region. He has lived in Colombia, guided tourists around Central America and performed extensive field research in the Peruvian Amazon. After graduating in native Latin American cultures and languages at Leiden University, he continued his career in sales, business development and trade promotion. As a business development advisor at the Dutch national trade promotion agency (EVD) Michel developed a true passion for international entrepreneurship, assisting many companies establish business relations in various European countries. Now he represents Access Latin America in the Netherlands.
