Opportunities in Bolivian agri-food
In the next months Access Latin America will present a fact-finding study of the Bolivian agri-food industry. This study was commissioned by the Dutch embassy and RVO and indicates potential themes for cooperation. Agriculture is an important economic driver of Bolivia, which is commercially the strongest in the department of Santa Cruz. The expansion of soybean, a maturing poultry industry and an increasing export potential for Bolivian beef are only examples of developments. Bolivia is not like any other Latin market; it is a market in development with high ambitions and unlimited needs. With only 11 million people and one of the lowest GDP’s in the region, it may be a small market for the big minds. But smart entrepreneurs will find many opportunities in motivated businesses in Bolivia that are eager to learn and quickly catching up with their neighbors.
